Star Citizen - New Chris Roberts project reaches crowdfunding target to go!
Long time since my last visit - hope everyone is ok
Couldn't see a thread about it here, so was just wondering if anyone else was aware of the new Chris 'Wing Commander' Roberts project.
They have now passed the $2.0M in crowdfunding target they set themselves, meaning that they have the go ahead to make the game!
Reading up on it, it looks like it would be everything I'd love to play, downside is that this early on in development I dont want to get all 'Jumpgate excited' again only for the game to never see the light of day.
Think I'll follow this for a while and see what happens.
Lots of info up at these sites:-
What does anyone think?
Hehe - just seen the chatbox!
Didn't think it would have gone unnoticed over here
Note to self - must try harder if I think I'm going to break a story!
Was chatting with Knys about it briefly on WoW the other night. He's contributed. I will soon. Been an expensive month this month, so after my wages have cleared
5 years agoI've pledged... which i think just goes to show the sad state of afairs of the game industry as far as space games goes.
We're all so desperate for something decent we're throwing money at Chris Roberts without any guarantee he can actualy deliver
Here's hoping though
PS - Welcome back Tycho
5 years agoNever pledged money to any crowdsourcing project before, but there is something I like about this one. I figured it was worth the $35.
Glad I didn't rush into pledging. I think I'll pledge to the master rather than the padawan

5 years agoThink its cool if FS splits pledges, so we have at least one game where we can fly our vessles and scream RAH again
5 years agoI have only just seen the Elite one, already pledged to RSI!
On the KS page for Elite...
"Dinner with myself and the key team members in Cambridge, Have a central star system named* after you, plus all rewards above." Price tag for that: £5K...
"5 backers - Sold out"
So tempting to slam £500 on this for my very own space station...really mustn't visit when drunk
